Your Private Tour Guide… Angela Buriani
Angela Buriani lives and works in Florence, in the Oltrarno quarter, where she moved from Bologna in 1987, after finishing her studies as Interpreter and Translator in English and Spanish. She worked many years as Tour Manager, travelling the world extensively for several companies and visiting the US often. In 1994 she started working for Gucci -a company that started in Florence- and became manager of the sales campaign team when Tom Ford was the lead designer.
In pursuing her passion for the art history, in 2002 Angela obtained the licence as Professional Guide of Florence and its province. From 2007 to 2012 she has been a Smithsonian study leader for their “Art Treasures of Italy” tour, while working also for several local and foreign agencies. As the interest for Tuscan food and wine was growing, in 2009 she became a certified A.I.S. Sommelier and a member of the Slow Food organization, an international culinary movement that started in Italy.
Now Angela gives private art tours, as well as food and wine tours in Florence and in Tuscany, in English, Spanish and Italian. Her favorite Tuscan wines are the full-bodied reds, such as Paleo and Guado al Tasso, produced near Bolgheri on the coast, but she also loves Montalcino wines and the Chianti Classico Riserva. She has two girls: Rubina, twenty-four years old, and Delfina, twenty-one, both still studying and living at home. In her free time, you will find her travelling, practising yoga, swimming and scuba diving.
Angela also works as travel consultant, organizing tours and experiences in several Italian areas and will be happy to customize your tour based on your interests, to make your vacation a really special one!
